First, thanks for the nice feedback on my book

As to your question, there is absolutely zero credence to the claim that circuit training is the only type of exercise that produces weight loss. Certainly circuit training can help with weight loss, but so will any regimented exercise program. The higher the intensity of effort in the exercise, the greater the number of calories you'll burn and thus the greater the weight loss.

One of the problems with circuit training is that it doesn't do a very good job of developing your muscles. It tries to be all things to all people, and ends up being a compromise both to fat burning and muscle development.

Serious strength training will not only optimize your muscle development, but will also help to burn fat. There is a significant "afterburn" associated with strength training that will continue to burn fat long after you finish training.

    Stay Fit!

    Brad
