BUILD MUSCLE TO BURN FAT

Scarsdale, NY - Can you can turn a strength training routine into a fat blasting workout? "Absolutely!" says fitness pro Brad Schoenfeld. "The key is that you need to push your body to work hard."

In the current issue of Fitness Magazine, Schoenfeld offers three tips for revving up your routine to maximize fat burning. One of these includes keeping rest intervals as short as possible. "Try to break for 30 seconds or less between sets," he advises. "This provides a real metabolic advantage over the course of a workout."

Schoenfeld also recommends using exercises that involve large muscle groups. "If you want to burn the most fat, opt for moves that require the use of multiple joints. Squats, for example, are significantly more metabolic than an inner thigh exercise." Schoenfeld cites lunges, presses and rows as other examples of multi-joint moves good for fat burning.
