IS YOUR DESK JOB TO BLAME FOR A BIGGER BUTT?
Scarsdale, NY -
Those who spend their time working all day at a desk are no doubt familiar with the term "secretary's butt." But according to Brad Schoenfeld, one does not necessarily have to the a consequence of the other. In the new issue of Oxygen magazine, Schoenfeld dispels the myth that sitting will make your butt flat and fat. "The only way a desk job leads to unwanted weight gain is if you don't exercise," he says. "It's not fait accompli."
How much exercise do you need to do if you work at a desk? "Not a lot," says Schoenfeld. "It's the quality -not quantity - of training that produces results. A few hours a week is all that's necessary, provided you train with sufficient intensity."
There is a catch, however. "You also have to control how much you eat," Schoenfeld adds. "Weight gain basically comes down to calories in versus calories out. If you work out hard but then go home and binge out, you're not doing yourself any good. It's the combination of proper exercise and a sensible diet that will keep you lean and toned."
Please contact Brad Schoenfeld to arrange an interview and/or for additional quotes.
