FINE TUNE YOUR WORKOUT

Scarsdale, NY - Are you busting your butt in the gym but not getting the payoff you deserve? Perhaps your workout is in need of a little fine tuning. "Training hard is only part of the equation when it comes to getting results," says fitness pro Brad Schoenfeld. "You also need to train smart."

In the current issue of Oxygen Magazine, Schoenfeld provides expert advice on getting the most for your efforts. One of his revelations is that you need to lower weights in a slow, controlled fashion. "The eccentric action is even more important than the concentric action," he states. "If you don't resist the weight on the negative portion of the lift, you're missing out on more than half the exercise."

According to Schoenfeld, another mistake women often make is relying on cardio rather than weight training to sculpt their phsyique. "You see women who just do cardio and no strength exercise and they invariably have a string appearance, or a thin, flabby look," Schoenfeld says. "In order to develop muscles and change your shape, you need to demand more of them in a relatively short period of time, and that can only be accomplished by lifting weights."

Please contact Brad Schoenfeld to arrange an interview and/or for additional quotes.
