Change It Up: Vary Your Workout for Better Results

Scarsdale, NY - Why do people get frustrated with their exercise routines? "One of the biggest reasons is a lack variety," says fitness expert, Brad Schoenfeld. In the new issue of Energy magazine, Schoenfeld details the pratfalls of performing the same exercises over and over again. "While it might be convenient and easy to keep doing the same thing, it's also the lazy way to do it. Ultimately you're going to get bored with your workout."

The solution? "Simple," says Schoenfeld. "Strive to perform a different routine every time you're in the gym. Sure, it involves a little more thought and knowledge. But if you read a few good books on the subject, you'll have no problem coming up with dozens upon dozens of alternatives to your usual exercises."

If you need an extra boost, Schoenfeld says to think of the results you'll see in the mirror. "Changing up your routine is going to get you better results," he declares. "And ultimately that's what you're expending all that sweat and effort for, right?"
