Bodylastics

Bodylastics bills its system of resistance bands as a total home gym for under $50. A complete basic Bodylastics set comes with five different bands equating to varying levels of resistance (the bands use standard color coding - yellow, red, green, blue and black - to designate resistance). Additional resistance levels are available for more advanced exercisers. Also included are two handles, 2 ankle straps and a door anchor. A travel case is provided that neatly contains the system when it's not being used. Dozens upon dozens of exercises can be performed with the system in all planes of movement.

One of the neat features of the Bodylastics system is that it utilizes heavy duty aluminum clips at the ends of each band, which the company calls the Quick Clip System. Not only does this make it easy to change between handles and ankle straps, but it facilitates being able to fasten multiple bands together, thereby creating up to 94 additional levels of tension. Most competing bands either have fixed handles or cheap plastic clips that are small and not user friendly.

The tubing is made from high quality latex. This is apparent from the first time you take it out of the box. Exercise performance is smooth throughout the range of movement. No deformation was seen after prolonged use. This quality construction should allow for significantly longer lasting performance than competing brands.

In sum, Bodylastics is the real deal. It can serve as its own home gym, allowing a terrific total body workout at minimal cost. It also is a great adjunct to a fully stocked home gym that has dumbbells, barbells, and/or a multifunction machine, as it provides a different training stimulus that will invariably enhance results. At less than two pounds and highly compact in design, it's easy to take on the road when you're traveling for an anywhere workout.

Highly recommended.
